Successful applicants will be assisted by the grant to provide valuable information and advice to support their members move to the low carbon economy which is becoming increasingly important as energy and carbon emissions become a more significant part of a business’s bottom line and sustainably produced goods and services a growing consideration for consumers and buyers.

Some of the benefits that the program will bring to your members are:

•       They will receive information and assistance that is relevant to their particular industry and circumstances.
•       All members in the association will be given consistently presented information which should avoid confusion and misunderstanding that can occur when complex information (such as information around climate change and energy) is concerned.
•       Because the information is coming from the association, your members will feel comfortable trusting the information and the advice given.
•       Your members are busy working in and on their businesses and often don’t have the time to investigate the minefield of energy, climate change and the associated legislation, nor to find  qualified people to advise them. The provision of the information from the Association will save them and their staff time researching the issues that concern them.
•       Your members will save money putting the advice into practice by maximising the energy efficiency of processes and business practices. They can save directly on the costs they are paying for energy and reduce the price they will be required to pay on carbon emissions they are producing.

Knowing they can save money from using less energy is obvious, what is harder and takes valuable time, is identifying where they use energy and what changes they can effect to reduce this.
